... High surf advisory remains in effect from 8 am Monday to 9 PM
PDT Wednesday...

* surf and timing... surf of 4 to 7 feet with possible Max sets
to 8 feet at times will develop early Monday morning and
persist through Wednesday night for the beaches of Los Angeles
and Ventura counties, including Santa Catalina Island. The
highest surf will be on exposed south facing beaches. Strong
and frequent rip currents are expected with possible sneaker
waves.

tide. Low-lying beach walkways and parking lots may flood with
sea water. A high tide of about 5.9 feet will occur around 7 PM
PDT Monday evening. A high tide of about 6.0 feet will occur
around 730 PM PDT Tuesday evening.

currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Large
breaking waves can cause injury... wash people off beaches and
rocks... and capsize small boats near shore.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area... producing localized beach erosion and
dangerous swimming conditions. Swim near a lifeguard. If caught
in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the
current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If
unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
