... Heat advisory remains in effect until 8 PM PDT Wednesday...

* temperature... daytime highs through Wednesday from the upper 90s
in the foothills to 105 to 110 across the northern half of the
Sacramento Valley. Hottest temperatures are expected Tuesday and
Wednesday. Overnight lows only dropping down into the 70s to
near 80 for the warmest locations in the advisory area.

* Impacts... long outdoor exposure may increase chances for heat
related illness for sensitive groups such as children or the
elderly.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A heat advisory means that a prolonged period of hot temperatures
is expected and will create a situation in which heat illnesses
are possible. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned
room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and
neighbors.
