... Flood Watch now in effect through this evening...

The Flood Watch is now in effect for

* portions of north central Georgia... north and northeast
Georgia... including Dawson... Fannin... Forsyth... Gilmer...
Hall... Lumpkin... Pickens... Union... banks... Jackson...
Madison... towns... white... Catoosa... Dade... Murray... Walker and
Whitfield counties.

* Through this 8 PM EDT evening

* additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are are possible
within the watch area.

* Rises in creeks and rivers are expected, some of which may go
out of their banks closing roads or impacting property. High
water will not recede until well after the rain has ended.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.




Wind Advisory

Expires 9:00 AM EDT on April 23, 2018
Statement as of 4:58 am EDT on April 23, 2018

... Wind Advisory now in effect until 9 am EDT this morning...

* locations... much of north and northeast Georgia, especially
above 2000ft.

* Winds... east winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 35 mph.

* Timing... through 9 am EDT

* impacts... with the heavy rainfall that fell overnight, some
trees may be downed. Unsecured outdoor items may be blown
around.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained wind speeds of at least
20 mph... or gusts to 35 mph or stronger are expected. Winds this
strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile
vehicles. Use extra caution.
