Flash Flood Watch

Statement as of 4:25 PM HST on April 18, 2018

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* all Hawaiian islands.

* From Thursday morning through Friday afternoon.

* A trough aloft moving over an old front is likely to bring heavy
rainfall that could produce flash flooding.

* Trade winds will continue, so showers will be most frequent
over windward areas. The ground remains saturated on Kauai due
to recent extreme rain, so Kauai will be especially vulnerable.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is very dangerous. Monitor the
forecast and be prepared to take action if you see rising water
or if flash flood warnings are issued.
