Dense Fog Advisory

Expires 1:00 PM EST on January 16, 2019
Statement as of 9:17 am CST on January 16, 2019

... Dense fog advisory in effect until noon CST today...

The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a dense fog
advisory, which is in effect until noon CST today.

* Visibilities... 1/8 to 1/4 of a mile throughout the warned area.

* Timing... this morning, although the fog could last through the
afternoon for some.

* Impacts... sudden reductions in visibility will make travel
slower and potentially more difficult where fog is the most
dense. In addition, due to temperatures near or below
freezing, the dense fog may cause a few slick spots,
especially on elevated surfaces such as brides and overpasses.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving, slow down. Use
your low beam headlights and leave plenty of distance ahead of
you.
