Special Statement

Expires 9:00 AM EST on January 24, 2019
Statement as of 3:49 am CST on January 24, 2019/

... Slick spots possible on area roadways this morning...

Wintry precipitation has ended across the region this morning,
however the combination of still wet roadways and temperatures
falling through the 20s will allow for some slick spots. Motorists
should use caution and watch for black ice during the morning
commute. Allow a little extra time for travel this morning and pay
especially close attention near bridges and overpasses.

Another round of flurries and light snow is possible this evening
with little to no accumulation. However, temperatures will drop
into the single digits and lower teens in many areas by dawn on
Friday. The bitter cold temperatures combined with steady surface
winds will create wind chills ranging from 9 below zero to 5 above
zero. The coldest wind chills will likely be along and north of
the Ohio River Friday morning.
