The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a

* flood advisory for...
eastern Mercer County in central Kentucky...
southern Woodford County in central Kentucky...
Clark County in central Kentucky...
Jessamine County in central Kentucky...
northern Madison County in central Kentucky...
southeastern Fayette County in central Kentucky...

* until 815 PM EDT.

* At 508 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lexington, Nicholasville, Winchester, Harrodsburg, Cadentown,
Veterans Park, Wilmore, Burgin, Goffs Corner and Chilesburg.

Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate Route.
