... Flood Watch remains in effect until 4 PM EDT this afternoon...

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of coastal downeast Maine, eastern Maine, and
interior downeast Maine, including the following areas, in
coastal downeast Maine, coastal Hancock and coastal
Washington. In eastern Maine, northern Washington. In interior
downeast Maine, central Washington, interior Hancock, and
southern Penobscot.

* Until 4 PM EDT this afternoon

* additional rainfall of one half to one inch of rainfall will
allow streams and rivers to continue to rise. Some smaller
streams will reach bankfull and possibly spill out of their
banks.

* The Penobscot river and St. Croix river will show significant
rises with some minor flooding possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.

The National Weather Service in Caribou Maine has issued a

* urban and small stream flood advisory for poor drainage areas
for...
south Central Hancock County in southeastern Maine...

* until noon EDT Thursday.

* At 557 am EDT, local law enforcement reported heavy rain in The
Bar Harbor area that has resulted in street flooding. Overflowing
poor drainage areas will result in minor flooding. Two to three
inches of rain have already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Bar Harbor and Somesville.

Additional rainfall of one inch is expected over the area this
morning. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
