The Flood Warning continues for
the Yazoo River at Yazoo City
* until further notice.
* At 7:00 PM Wednesday the stage was 32.7 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 29.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 33.5 feet Sunday
morning.
* Impact... at 32.0 feet... minor flooding of mostly agricultural land
is occurring outside the levee protection system.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Big Black River near Bentonia
* from Thursday morning until further notice.
* At 6:15 PM Wednesday the stage was 20.6 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will rise above flood stage tomorrow morning
and will continue to rise to near 27.5 feet Wednesday evening February 27.
* Flood history... this crest compares to a previous crest of 27.2 feet
on Jan 6 2019.
* Impact... at 26.5 feet... flooding of agricultural land has more than
doubled in the last 1.5 feet rise.
* Impact... at 25.0 feet... extensive flooding of agricultural land is
occurring.
* Impact... at 23.5 feet... agricultural land near the river begins to
flood.
* Impact... at 22.0 feet... low lying Woodland areas along the river
begins to flood.
* Impact... at 21.0 feet... minor low land flooding occurs along the
river.

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from Thursday afternoon
through Saturday evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of southeast Arkansas, northeast Louisiana and
Mississippi, including the following areas in southeast
Arkansas, Ashley and Chicot. In northeast Louisiana, East
Carroll, Morehouse, Richland and West Carroll. In Mississippi,
Attala, Bolivar, Carroll, Choctaw, Clay, Grenada, Holmes,
Humphreys, Issaquena, Leflore, Lowndes, Montgomery, Noxubee,
Oktibbeha, Sharkey, Sunflower, Washington, Webster, Winston
and Yazoo.

* From Thursday afternoon through Saturday evening

* additional rainfall amounts of two to four inches with locally
heavier amounts are expected to fall on saturated grounds.

* The flooding of roads, low lying areas, and areas with poor
drainage is expected. Water levels on areas rivers and streams
will be rising as well. If encountering flooded roads,
remember to turn around, don't drown and be especially
cautious at night.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
