* flood advisory for...
northeastern Nash County in central North Carolina...
southern Warren County in central North Carolina...
northwestern Edgecombe County in central North Carolina...
southwestern Halifax County in central North Carolina...
northern Franklin County in central North Carolina...

* until 830 PM EDT

* at 525 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Warrenton, Franklinton, Norlina, Dortches, Red Oak, Enfield,
Whitakers, Macon, Centerville and Glenview.

Additional rainfall of one to two inches is expected over the area.
This additional rain will cause minor flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A flood advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
