... High surf advisory remains in effect until 11 PM EDT
Wednesday...

* locations... the high surf and minor beach erosion will affect
beaches north of Cape Lookout along the Cape Lookout National
Seashore. Minor Soundside flooding is expected along the Neuse
River and Pamlico Sound from the intercoastal waterway to
Cedar Island including South River and Adams Creek.

* Tidal departure... water levels of 2 to 3 feet above normal are
expected along the Neuse River and southern Pamlico Sound
leading to inundation of 1 to 2 feet above ground level.

* Timing... minor Soundside flooding will continue through early
Wednesday morning. High surf and minor beach erosion will
continue through Wednesday evening.

* Coastal flood impacts... minor flooding is expected with water
levels of 1 to 2 feet above ground level (2 to 3 feet above
normal).

* Shoreline impacts... minor beach erosion and minor ocean overwash
is expected, especially around the times of high tide. High tide
will occur around 1 am tonight and 130 PM Wednesday.

* Surf height... 6 to 8 feet through Wednesday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal flood advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.

A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area, producing localized beach erosion and
dangerous swimming conditions.


Time of high total tides are approximate to the nearest hour.
