The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Arroyo and small stream flood advisory for...
northwestern Union County in northeastern New Mexico...
northeastern Colfax County in northeastern New Mexico...

* until 630 PM MDT.

* At 425 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to slow
moving thunderstorms near Folsom. Rainfall amounts between one and
two inches will be common with these storms. This will cause
Arroyo and small stream flooding in the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Folsom.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Both localized and distant heavy rainfall will create dangerous flows
in arroyos and over low water crossings. Do not attempt to drive
through these waters. Water in arroyos may travel many miles and take
hours to reach your location from upstream rain areas.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

* until 745 PM MDT.

* At 346 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to slow
moving thunderstorms between Vermejo Park and the Colorado border.
Rainfall amounts between one and two inches will be common with
these storms. This will cause Arroyo and small stream flooding in
the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Vermejo Park.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Both localized and distant heavy rainfall will create dangerous flows
in arroyos and over low water crossings. Do not attempt to drive
through these waters. Water in arroyos may travel many miles and take
hours to reach your location from upstream rain areas.

... Significant weather advisory for north central Mora and south
central Colfax counties until 630 PM MDT...

At 555 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Ocate, or 22 miles west of Springer, moving northeast at 25 mph.

Dime size hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with
this storm.

Heavy rain and frequent and dangerous cloud to ground lightning will
also be possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Ocate and Rayado.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Accumulations of small hail on roads can create very slick and
hazardous driving conditions.
