Statement as of 5:14 am EST on November 21, 2018

..snow showers and squalls likely to impact travel today...

An Arctic cold front will push through the area from north to
south during the afternoon hours today. Along and behind this
cold front scattered snow showers and snow squalls are likely to
develop. Visibilities may briefly drop to one-quarter mile or
less in near whiteout conditions as these squalls move through.
Roadways could initially become wet or slushy, but will then
quickly freeze, becoming icy and snow covered. The best chance to
see these heavier snow showers and squalls will be from about
noon to 6 PM today. Total daytime snow accumulations of a coating
to 1.5 inches are expected. Please stay advised of the latest
weather conditions and forecasts if traveling today. Motorists
should exercise caution and be prepared to encounter changeable
conditions.

Northwest winds will also increase between 15-25 mph with gusts
up to 40 mph, creating localized blowing snow and hazardous
conditions for high profile vehicles. Temperatures fall into the
20s by sunset.
