... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from 6 am EST Thursday
through late Thursday night...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of northern Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode
Island, including the following areas, in northern
Connecticut, Hartford, Tolland, and Windham. In Massachusetts,
Barnstable, Bristol, Essex, Franklin, Hampden, Hampshire,
Middlesex, Norfolk, Plymouth, Suffolk, and Worcester. In Rhode
Island, Bristol, Kent, Newport, Providence, and Washington.

* From 6 am EST Thursday through late Thursday night

* rain will overspread southern New England overnight and become
heavy at times on Thursday. By the time the rain tapers off by
early Thursday evening, 1 to 2 inches of rain are anticipated
with locally higher amounts possible.

* The heavy rain combined with snowmelt will result in the
potential for areas of significant urban street flooding. In
addition... some small river and stream flooding is also
possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.




Wind Advisory

Expires 5:00 PM EST on January 24, 2019
Statement as of 10:02 PM EST on January 23, 2019

... Wind Advisory remains in effect from 9 am to 5 PM EST
Thursday...

* winds... south 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 55 mph.

* Timing... strongest winds late Thursday morning and Thursday
afternoon.

* Impacts... strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power
lines. Scattered power outages are expected.

* Location... northern Rhode Island, portions of interior
southeast Massachusetts, as well as northeast Massachusetts.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph are
expected, with gusts between 46 to 57 mph. Winds this strong are
capable of Downing small tree limbs and branches, possibly
causing isolated power outages. Driving can also be difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
