Flood Warning, Areal Flood Warning

The Flood Warning continues for
the Okanogan river near Tonasket.
* Until further notice.
* At 6:15 am Sunday the stage was 18.49 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.00 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... after falling to near 17.7 feet Monday, the river is
expected to rise again to near 18.8 feet Thursday.
* At 19.0 feet... water may be into homes along the river in and
near Tonasket.
* At 18.0 feet... water will be approaching homes along the river in
and near Tonasket. Major flooding of surrounding cropland is
likely. Some homes and buildings adjacent to the river will
experience some basement and first floor flooding.
* At 17.0 feet... low lying fields and pasture land in the flood plain
along the Okanogan River Valley, from Oroville to Okanogan, will be
flooded. Some homes near the river in Okanogan may experience some
basement flooding from seepage. Water will be between the Railroad
and Highway 97 near Cordell, south of Oroville. Water will be
against The Shoulder of Omak River Road across from wanacut creek.
* At 16.0 feet... pasture land between Rodeo track Road and Benton
street, on the east side of the river near Omak, will begin to
flood.
* At 15.0 feet... minor flooding of low-lying areas is likely between
Oroville and Tonasket.

... A Flood Warning for snowmelt remains in effect until 415 PM PDT
Friday for northeastern Okanogan County...

Osoyoos Lake remains high. Flooding is occurring and expected to
continue. Similar levels observed on may 10 and 11th resulted in
water on the south end of the lake... flooding backyards and to the
base of homes along backer Road. In addition, Deep Bay park
peninsula is underwater to the parking lot. Flooding is expected to
continue to impact homes through the weekend and into next week.

Flooding impact that can be expected include:

flooding of homes along the Lake Shore.
Flooding of Osoyoos Lake veteran's Memorial Park
flooding of low-lying Lake Shore property.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Warning means that flooding is occurring. All interested
parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

... A Flood Warning for rain and snowmelt remains in effect until 345
PM PDT Friday for central Okanogan County...

Snowmelt will cause an increase flow from the Conconully reservior
into Salmon Creek through the weekend and into next week. Cooler
temperatures through Sunday may lead to lower flows, but another
warm up next week will increase mountain snow melt. Salmon Creek
will continue to bring a threat of flooding to low lying areas and
driveways along Salmon Creek between Conconully and Okanogan,
including portions of Salmon Creek Road.

Areas that were susceptible to erosion and flooding with high flows
during the first two weeks of may 2018 will remain prone to
additional erosion and flooding issues through next week.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
